Being mean to landlords, transphobes, racists etc. online is a much more effective form of political action than giving them space to spread their hateful views and allowing them and others to develop the impression that those views are in any way acceptable. Don't accept it! Tell them to fuck off!

Just finished reading Sacred Gender: Create Trans & Nonbinary Spiritual Connections by Ariana Serpentine. I’m writing my review of it tomorrow, but here’s a HOT TAKE for you:

THIS BOOK IS AMAZING!

It’s exactly the kind of resource that can move our communities forward toward a mutual acceptance that is authentically welcoming and celebrations/rites that truly embrace every person.

Concept: occult/witch buddy, like a gym buddy. Someone who you can work with and trust each other to train limits and do spots for more risky spells or rituals. (Aka im tired of working solo)

For a very long time, LaVey at least if not before, #Satanism has been associated with power worship and a belief that #MightIsRight.

What a foolish fucking choice for a symbol, then, to take we your model, #Satan, whose rebellion failed due to nothing if not a lack of power.

As we look at what the future is likely to hold on a hotter, more hostile planet still dominated by the seeming omnipotence of capitalism and its archangel nation states, the symbol of Satan becomes yet more resonant

We can yet make a paradise of the hells we have been exiled to. Ten thousand years it may take, but we can welcome more maimed outcasts, more terrified refugees, and together we can build a community for everyone.

Satan tried to unionize the angels, but they failed to overthrow God and suffered for it. Then they picked themselves up and the work continues.

Might does not make right. Survival and endurance do. And so long as we endure in our defiance, claims of our would-be masters’ victory will always ring hollow.

If #Satanism had any value, it is this.

When marginalized people deal with issues relating to the majority, we typically frame ourselves as unjustly persecuted and such by their behaviors. This is basically fine, if slightly petulant at points, because it's essentially accurate. The problem really comes when we start dealing with other marginalized communities. When other marginalized groups rub up against us and the interaction isn't smooth, both parties will overwhelming identify the other as the majority and themselves as victims. Someone always has to occupy the moral high ground. We REALLY need to get out of this mindset. I think we're obsessed with the moral high ground because we're so used to powerlessness and victimization that claiming the moral right is the only kind of meaning we can derive from our experiences. But meaning can be found in solidarity! If that solidarity is authentic. We need to work to make sure it is.

Ask your local Satanist org what their position is on cops. Straight up

Ask them what their position is on any behavior that breaks local laws. Get a straight answer about that, too

are they actually rebels, or is it just a rebellious aesthetic?

SHADOW WORK
notice: shadow work requires a lot of time, effort, tears, grief, anger, etc. DO NOT attempt to start doing shadow work without having researching what it is and what it entails. for those of you with mental illnesses, be wary -- if you are not in the proper mindset, do not attempt shadow work. it will literally bring up your traumas and push you to work through them.

The following #books teach you about shadow work (what it is, what to look out for, and the likes):

Bringing Your Shadow Out of the Dark by Robert Augustus Masters PhD.

Owning Your Own Shadow by Robert A. Johnson

Meeting the Shadow: The Hidden Power of the Dark Side of Human Nature by Connie Zweig and Jeremiah Abrams

Spiritual Bypassing by Robert Augustus Masters PhD.

A theologically consistent #Satanism must be anti-authoritarian. Because if Satan was seeking simply to replace God, and continue to rule as King of EverythingTM, then why would we be for him? If Satanism was about "might making right" why aren't we following the all powerful dude?

Satanism should always seek to embrace and encourage religious pluralism and diversity. Otherwise in seeking to be "the one" we become like those we seek to overthrow.

A quick note of something that may be important for people to know: I already noted that DMs here are a bit sketchy security wise, but (THIS IS THE IMPORTANT BIT): if you mention someone else's account in a DM, Mastodon, yoinks them into the conversation.

So, you know, if you think you're talking about someone behind their back, you might be doing it to their face.

❌ we should have daylight when we come home from work at night

☑️ we shouldn’t have to work so many hours that we have to ration The Sun

"Don't punish the behavior you want to see" is a SUPREME rule that everyone should follow in their personal lives, but it's also a great political rule of thumb as well. To be blunt and use an extreme example of this, if wizard-lady (you know who) were to come out tomorrow, apologize for all the harm she has done to the transgender community, and start making efforts to undo the harm she did I would CELEBRATE. A less extreme example would be Jon Stewart. When he did his episode on trans rights a good number of trans people complained that we shouldn't be celebrating someone doing the "bare minimum." But he didn't do the bare minimum! The bare minimum is doing NOTHING. It takes a lot of courage to come out on a public platform and not only renounce your former beliefs but to try and convince your audience that they should change their minds too. Why shouldn't we celebrate that?!

IMO, trans people should communicate two things to cis people:
1. We demand our freedom and are willing to achieve it by any means necessary. We won't moderate ourselves or go at a pace set by anyone else. If you're not with us, you're against us.
2. We would REALLY love if you were with us though! Not just because we need your support to win, but because life is better with many friends rather than few.

I DON'T want to have comrades who think of me as a moral issue, supporting me a stand they need to take because if they didn't they would be Bad People. Allies who think this way are always at risk of falling into pure moralism; more concerned with doing the Right Thing than with helping people. "Virtue signaling" as the right puts it. You should NEVER help someone because you feel obligated to. Life is far better when you realizing that helping others is fulfilling. Be more selfish in your radicalism!

lbds137 channeled

There's no such thing as a bad reason to be trans. If presenting as a woman turns you on, based. Go for it! It says a lot that you prefer to see yourself that way, and prefer to be seen that way, in sexual dynamics. That's not a superficial or perverse reason in the slightest. Cis men talk about wanting to "feel like a man" in bed all the time, same goes for cis women and feeling like a woman. It's "perverse" when we do it but normal when they do it. Buuuullshit.
