today's starting slow, but that happens to be just what i need right now

good morning! work was rough last week or six. fires have blocked every road out of town but one, and evacuation alerts (not orders) are being issued for the other side of the city

but the fire team's very good and there's a big river between us, so i'm only worried about evacuation from smoke, not my house burning. i remember i could see the sky for a couple days there 😊

took the weekend to rest from Bad Job, which is nearly over. working for pay proportional to the work from now on - with a much nicer client!

i feel so, so much better. so relieved. still deeply tired, but that's gonna take a sec to shake off after all of that.

visibility like a ps1 game out here today. at night it looks like winter fog glowing by the streetlights, until you breathe it

all the various fees associated with my name change have costed me roughly every dollar i had (a cool two thirds of rent), and somehow, not a cent more.

which is good bc this guy who agreed to pay me extra for putting in a lot more effort this month has only now agreed to pay me the usual rate. over two weeks late. if i'm lucky it'll clear the various deposit & withdrawal times it has to go through to reach me before the end of the month

so if the fire jumps the lake, a nearby part of town will be evacuated. then the wildfire team will find out if the pavement between there and here is enough to stop it 🎉

good morning! when i roll the wrong way in my sleep, i am often awoken by an eye-searing column of light through my poorly-hung curtains lol

well, today it was red. because the sun is red through the smoke that wasn't there yesterday

good morning! it is 6:30 am and i have Logged On

getting sleep rocks. i have some deadlines, but few meetings this week. and one of the deadlines is for work that pays hourly! love to get paid more when i have to work longer tbh

this will be a good week for sleeping and cooking and with any luck, there will be plenty of time for just not doing anything at all

and nothing scheduled yet today? no way. is this the "free time" i hear spoken of in hushed whispers by people who have "hours" or "vacation days"? what do i... do

of course, a birth certificate and two proofs of residence do combine to form a valid "photo" id according to canada post postal guide policy 4.1, but this very important and powerful man insists it's not enough. he alone is the only bad experience i have had with the post
